Yes to TSA Pre✓

I thought TSA Pre✓ was a waste of money until I got randomly selected for it. In all honesty, it felt like winning the lottery.

I had just read a news story about long lines at TSA checkpoints - often times two hours long at Sea-Tac, where I happened to be flying.  

​But not for me... my wait time was about 10 minutes, thanks to a little random TSA love! It literally couldn't have come at a better time.

The woman at the United counter said that sometimes you just get randomly selected.

If you actually pay for TSA Pre✓ it means you're a low-risk traveler. (Granted, how did they know with me since they randomly selected me?! I may or may not have taken a few extra bottles of Aveda conditioner the hotel provided me...)

In the very basic terms it means you go through a special line, you leave your shoes and jacket on and you don't have to take out your laptop... I mean, it's pretty sweet. ​

It likely shaved off at least an hour of my wait time.

For $85, you get the luxury of feeling like a rockstar at the airport for five years. You do have to apply for the process.
