Wilma's Women to Watch luncheon was a huge hit! If you remember, I wrote about judging for the magazine's first-ever W2W in August. There were 237 nominations, but only six winners. And I must say... we picked a fabulous group of women! Judy Girard, a fellow judge and HGTV and Food Network President Emeritus, may have said it best today - she said these awards are unique because they don't honor women when they're at the top of their industries, but rather for their good deeds *and their potential. We expect to see them set the world on fire in the next 10 years (my words!) The luncheon was held at the City Club, one of my favorite places in Wilmington. Special thanks to Nina Bays Cournoyer and Vicky Janowski, the co-editors of Wilma Magazine. They really put together a great event! Can't wait to see who makes the list next year. And... drumroll... the Women to Watch this year are:
Business: Carmin Black, Half United co-owner Heath Care: Carla Turner, NHC Health Department Personal Health Services Manager Education: Laura Hunter, South Brunswick High Teacher Nonprofit: JC Skane, WARM Executive Director The Arts: Susan Savia, Musician Rising Star: Cicely Pringle, Singer (PHOTO FAUX PAS- my camera died. I got about 3 pictures done..)

I have been through several posts on this very subject but the satisfactory information that I found here is something that all other blogs are missing.

Michelle, I googled my name and this picture showed up of three women. The strange thing is that the woman on the right and I look similar. I think her name is also Judy. Just a coincidence or what? Lol
