I swear I learned this in Journalism school: dog bites man is not nearly as compelling as man bites dog! And wouldn't you know it... a fairly new K9 cop with the Wilmington Police Department got his ear gnawed on by a convicted felon.  PHOTO: Wilmington Police Department I shared the story on Google Plus when it first happened, and people seem to think it's all a part of the zombie apocalypse. Not so fast says reporter Nadine Maeser. She says the guy told her he's innocent, and if he didn't bite the dog's ear, he would've been dead. [Read our first report] Police on the other hand, say if Maxx had a little more experience, like his K9 peers, the guy would have been torn up.
