We got married in downtown Honolulu and had a reception in downtown Springfield, Missouri, a month later. This is a fun pic because my husband and I took ballroom dancing classes in preparation for our first dance... We splurged and spent hundreds of dollars to look like we knew what we were doing for that first dance. I thought we were going to learn the waltz but somehow we got talked into doing a full-on choreographed number. Jim was on board until two weeks before the reception. He freaked out and refused to go back. Our poor little instructor, Jacque, never got an explanation.
I remember Jim saying, "I can't do this dance! All of my friends will be there! They are going to make fun of me!!" Looking back, it's really hilarious. All we wanted was to do a few twirls and not look like idiots. At the end of the day, it didn't matter. We ended up drinking enough wine that we couldn't have done that darn dance anyway... but every now and then, we'll bust out the routine in our living room just because we can.
