In case you're looking to save some extra cash after the New Year, I wanted to give you a quick reminder that this week is Super Doubles week at Harris Teeter.
What does that mean? It means Harris Teeter will double coupons up to $1.98. (Uh. Super. Double.) It also means some hard core couponers will be at HT at 7 a.m... and some exhausted grocery store workers will need a massage by the end of the week. [SEE THE COUPON MATCHUPS] The sale starts on January 4th and will run until next Tuesday. According to Southern Savers, here are a few things you can get for free this week: Bumble Bee Tuna, 5 oz. can Margaret Holmes Collard Greens, 14 oz can Burt's Bees All-in-one wash Mission Ready to Cook Tortillas Oscar Mayer Lunchables Smart Balance Milk Horizon Organic Milk Singles Mueller's pasta Also, there are a bunch of items that will be less than $1, like Truvia for less than a quarter. NEWBIE NOTES: This is apparently why you collect coupons. I tend to call my collection the "coupon arsenal." I am still a newbie, but it seems a lot of people get amped about these super double days.

I have been wanting to get into extreme couponing, but not for just myself. I would most likely donate to local food banks. Here in Columbus County though, there doesn't seem to be a lot of information out there on helping out the local population. I would love to have a group of other couponers to get together for this very worthy cause. So as I get going, perhaps I can spark the idea in others to use this skill and teach others to help in this way. Happy New Year!

I think that's great, Dee! I hope we can do that, too! I'd like to get enough to donate to some of the area charities, collect old coupons for military families who coupon... and more! We'll see how it works!
