I am obsessed with Paul's Pel'meni. I mean, obsessed. That place is so delicious! I could eat pel'menis everyday! So, one day I made my own version - not to take anything away from the downtown dumpling shop - because there's just no replacing that! But, here's my homemade and quick version of a PP. Frozen pierogies would be great, too, but my grocery store doesn't carry them. So, I'll have to go somewhere else to buy them OR buy the frozen bags at the restaurant. The flavors work really well with potatoes and ravioli. I'm sure any starch would work well!
I used Hyvee's store brand mushroom ravioli. I parboiled it and then pan fried it with a pat of real butter. When it was done, I added a dab of yellow curry powder, a squeeze-or-two of sriracha sauce, and a bunch of cilantro. We really like cilantro, so we put a lot on. Then, we used a dollop of sour cream! Super easy! But, again, it's hard to beat the restaurant's version of those potato dumplings. They are just too good!
