If you were at Veterans Park in Wilmington, you may have caught some WECT - Fox Wilmington folks getting hardcore into a cornhole tournament. We had so much fun getting together for our company picnic, and I absolutely love the park. What a great day!

I didn't get a ton of things, but what I did get... I got for CHEAP this week at Harris Teeter and CVS. Free hose at CVS, thanks to a coupon I printed out at the coupon machine. Harris Teeter: Dove chocolate, 9-cents Yakisoba noodles, 10-cents Mario Olives, 24-cents Sorento string cheese, 1.49. In all, I spent $3.62 with tax. See the coupons and breakdowns on foxwilmington.com Also, when I bought all of the above at Harris Teeter, a bunch of Catalina coupons printed out at the register. I will get the Glade Starter Kit for $2 off (it's on sale this week for $2.37). So, I'll pay 37-cents for the Glade... and then get $1 back to spend on anything I want, thanks to an SC Johnson deal. MONEYMAKER!
And I'll also get FREE Idahoan potatoes and a free Shutterfly photo album. The Revolution special screening is here! Tonight, Wilmington will get its own screening of the first episode of the new sci-fi show. And, we know at least two of the actors will be available for Q & A. Giancarlo Esposito and Graham Rogers will be there, NBC confirms. Tickets are sold out for the screening, which takes place at Thalian Hall at 7:30 p.m. We're also going to try to do a Google Hangout for those of you who cannot be there, so you can at least watch and type in your questions. IF YOU GO, SHARE YOUR PICS! Email them to pics@wect.com and write "Revolution" in the subject line. It will automatically show up on wect.com! Here's a look at the trailer: Giancarlo Esposito has been known to pop in a hangout! It was nothing for me to save about 89% at the grocery store. I've been hearing a lot about the new Lowes Foods in Leland... which has been running a triple coupon promotion for several weeks. But, it took Mavis from Mavis Savers to convince me to check it out for myself. Subscribe on Facebook for deals in real-time That location will triple any coupon less than $1. You can use 20 coupons a day. I am out-of-pocket $9.12 after tax for all of the stuff above. It would have normally cost $79.54! Ask Michelle to feature your deals The food sales will last through Tuesday night, but there's no timeline for the triple coupon promotion. HOW DID I DO IT? I used coupons with stuff already on sale. PLUS, there's a KRAFT deal (easy explanation below.) I forgot about the KRAFT deal - had I planned for it, I could've saved an additional $5. **THE KRAFT DEAL CAN BE DONE MOST ANYWHERE WITHOUT COUPONS** NOTE: RNO (Raleigh News and Observer) SS (Smart Source Insert)
Here's a look at some of the coupons I used: A QUICK LOOK AT THE KRAFT DEAL: Here are the basics: If you buy a certain amount of KRAFT products, KRAFT will give you money back. Buy 3-5, get $2 Buy 6-9, get $5 Buy 10, get $10 And... you can use coupons. So, if you're smart at math, you could get 10 items as-close-to-free-as-possible with coupons... and then earn $10 back to use again at Lowes Foods. Because of bad planning, I bought 9 items. ARGH. I know I can't live off of Krunchers and Mac and Cheese. But, I believe in moderation... and because we don't make a practice of having junk food in the house, it's a nice treat sometimes. And, when mac and cheese is free, I have the option of making it for the hubby and me... or donating it.
Couponing really can be easy. This week I spent $9 on groceries... it took me longer to blog about this than it did to go shopping. I believe this can really make a difference in the way you live. My husband really loves saving the money... we use that towards bills and more fun! I saw this a couple of weeks ago as I was walking in downtown Wilmington. You can caption this, tell me I'm overreacting, agree with me, or ignore it. This was taken on a Saturday night, after dinner. That's really all I'm going to say.
