If you've been following Google TV on Google Plus, then you'll know I've been named a Google TV Ambassador. It's made up of a pretty neat group of GTV enthusiasts, and our goal is to act as a liaison between the public and Google TV. Google TV made the announcement yesterday, and already, the questions have been rolling in.
It's not a paid position. And, it doesn't come with schwag, like you might think...though we might get a T-shirt out of the deal. So, there's your full disclosure.
And I should thank my G+ friend, Kim Beasley. She's the one who put me in contact with the right people to be on the ambassador list. Circle her. In fact, circle us all.
Although it takes all kinds, I'm probably the least tech savvy when it comes to this list of GTVers. But, I do have a few skillz in the communications department. And, I believe there are still a lot of consumers out there who don't have time to worry about how the flux capacitor works - they just want a great experience.
See... for me, I got suckered into getting a Google TV. We were out shopping last year on Black Friday. I wanted a Christmas tree, and instead, my husband picked up a Sony TV. $30 vs. $600. But, you know what? It was one of the best things we did for our wallets.
WHY? Easy. We dropped our cable. We picked up Netflix. And, because of Google Play, we can download apps right onto our TV. From my understanding, there's a glitch being worked out with HBO Go and Max Go... but it should be resolved pretty quickly.
In the meantime, I'm all about the DRAMA FEVER app. Do you like telenovelas? How about Asian dramas? If you don't know...want to find out? DRAMA FEVER is for the English speaking viewer - AND truthfully, the shows are HIGHLY addictive. My favorite (and sickest) obsession is with Lee Min Ho. Sue me.
And... did you like that viral song Gangnam Style (it only has 531 million views)? Turns out, Drama Fever found a few big brother style shows just for you!
