I have never seen a city get behind Fish Fry Fridays like Madison. If you're from the area, it's definitely "a thing". My friends Neal and Melissa took me out to Quivey's recently, and it was such a neat experience! I've got a list that I'm working through, but here's my QG experience.
1. First thing's first: The atmosphere is really cool. On FFF, you can either eat under the outdoor tent or you can cop a squat at a table in the stone house. There's also a tunnel that will take you from the bar to the house, which apparently is great in the winter. My friends and I noted that Quivey's has a little bit of a Southern feel.
2. You have the option of getting a little cake of parmesan potatoes. If you like to mix it up every now and then, not a bad idea.
3. And instead of rolls, you get muffins. People go on and on about the muffins. Again, if you like changing things up every now and then, it's kind of a neat treat. You're already going to do a carb overload, so you might as well.
What a great little trip! I really enjoyed getting out there and seeing people. It's so fun to plan out your Friday nights a fish fry. I'd love to hear more suggestions!
