"What if you could see every journalist from The New York Times, from NBC, from Fox, from Fox Wilmington? And then if you trust what they say on TV or in the newspaper, why don’t you trust what they say on Twitter? You can kind of get a view of what tomorrow’s newspaper or tonight’s newscast is going to be before that because you’ll see the journalist putting it together.” Muck Rack is a great online resource to discover what journalists are talking about on Twitter. It's a great way for communicators and journalists to connect. Here are a few good reasons to check out Muck Rack, in my opinion: - Find out what journalists are tweeting about... all in one place - See what journalists are saying about a topic or your company - Have a direct way to pitch an idea to a reporter - Know exactly who you're communicating with You can watch our entire Google Plus hangout below OR click to specific links below in our table of contents: Muck Rack for Journalists and Communicators Hangout Table of Contents: (click on each link for specific answer)

I plugged in the hashtag #CES2013 and found rapper 50 Cent is owning the electronics show, thanks to his pricey line of headphones.
Three of my favorite videos from CES on Day 3 - the technology from Samsung is amazing and crazy at the same time. You'll know the word #Youm very soon! Just watch! On Thursday, guest host, +Kim Beasley will be talking to Tech Launch Pad for us with another day of gadgets. The Asus Cube will likely cost about $150... Wouldn't it be nice to never lose your keys again? How about powering up your laptop from the sun? Tech Launch Pad gives us 4 cool new gadgets for 2013 from the Consumer Electronics Show... You can't ignore the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week. There are so many darn gadgets and gizmos being unveiled as we speak for 2013. - Today, Lexus showed off a driver-less car. Audi won't be far behind, and Google's already got about a dozen cars doing it now. - We also saw an Ultra HDTV from LG... for a cost of $12,000. - And, more people are getting in the Google TV game. We're talking about NeoTV Prime and the Asus Cube We hosted a hangout with Tech Launch Pad to hear about some of the things that topped their list. Home security, bluetooth speakers, a USB monitor and some amped up wireless headphones were just a few of the things mentioned! WE'RE HANGING OUT TUESDAY AT 3:30 P.M. EST right here. More from the CES floor! Ask for an invite. (Sorry we had a few audio issues here...) Thanks to +Larry Fournillier and The Hangout Networks, I got to share my recipe for Korean dumplings and Korean dumpling soup. My soup is actually just a pot of stuff I throw together every now and then, but my husband loves it. Mandu (mahn-doo) is really a great comfort food. You can fry it, steam it, boil it... even Bubba Gump could find a ton of things to do with it! This is all just for fun - but I hope you'll consider testing out the Korean waters. If you live in the Wilmington area, the BEST place to buy homemade, delicious kimchi is Saigon Market. Tell them I said HI when you go!! The awesomest story is that the owner (who's not even Korean) makes the most delicious kimchi. Korean ladies used to snub their noses at her kimchi-making skillz until she stopped making it. Now I think people are begging her to make it again because booyah, it's back. So yummy... better than any kimchi you'll find in a Korean restaurant. Check out the event page for the recipe (or look at the earlier post) and watch the YouTube video. CIRCLE WORTHY: +Larry Fournillier +Stephanie Manley +Sandy Hill +Sarina Bland +Anthony Ramos +Kim Beasley +Stormy Henderson +George Sepich +Michael Banks One of my favorite Korean things to make is mandu. These little dumplings are perfect for just about anything. After you put them together, you can freeze them and then use them later. They're so versatile - you can fry them, steam them, boil them or use them in soup.
I'm going to demonstrate how to make them Sunday at 6 p.m. EST on Google Plus! Hope you'll join me. I'll be with Larry Fournillier, G+'s favorite chef. Here's the recipe! Get your ingredients together and then join me online... we'll cook it together. :) Delly from Delly's Deals shows us how to save big this week at the grocery store, thanks to Super Doubles at Harris Teeter. A lot of the deals she showed on the news are ones that are from Internet coupons. I get it.
Every Thursday in 2012, I did a money-saving segment. This year, we're going to change it up a bit. And, change is good. I will be sharing more of our community couponers' deals in 2013 so I can concentrate on other projects, too. Starting Wednesday (Jan. 2, 2013), Harris Teeter will run a Super Doubles promotions, which means you can double a coupon that's $2. That means you can potentially get $4 off -- seriously, that's great at a grocery store. Here's a list of a few of the things you can get for free or cheap this week with coupons (some printable): - Wholly Salsa (free) - Snackwells (free) - Hormel Compleats (free) - Smart Balance Milk (99-cents) - Aussie Shampoo or Condtioner (free for one, then 99-cents) - Febreze car vent clips (74-cents) *********** You can read the entire list on The Frugal Beach Bum Blog. Also - Delly Mellor from Delly's Deals will be on Fox Wilmington News at 6:30 on Thursday to show off some of the things she found. Make sure to tune in! |
