My husband took me to Lake Geneva for my birthday. And even though I left my camera at home, my phone captured our picture-perfect daytrip. This is first time I've eaten deep dish pizza in 10 years. We ordered the small (4 pieces) from Gino's East - just a small bite will fill you up! If you get a chance to go to Oktoberfest, like we did, park at Home Depot and take the free shuttle to downtown. Take a boat tour and eat some pizza. We learned so much about the lake's history and its ties to Chicago. Trips like this make me love Wisconsin more every day. So grateful we call this place home!

Maggie Gifford just made an incredible discovery. Now she needs your help. Maggie grew up in the United States but was adopted from Korea at age 3. And though she grew up as an only child, she recently discovered she has a twin sister. There were no records of a twin in her original adoption papers. Now she's looking for a woman with the Korean birthname Koh Yoen Ok. Maggie says Yoen Ok was also adopted, but she doesn't know more than that. The likelihood her twin grew up in the United States is fairly high. Maggie says her mom supports her birth search but also felt torn with the surprising news because she would have adopted both girls. She left a message for her sister in case she watches the video: "I would love to get to know you, and I'm very sorry that we didn't get to know each other earlier in life," she said. "But I'm really curious to see what kind of relationship we can have now." CONTACT: shortymk@yahoo.com Health officials are reminding folks to get the flu shot as soon as you can. We got ours at work! Not to be a baby, but I really do have a pretty healthy anxiety towards needles. I'm not putting you on, that is for real. I don't know where I got it, but I've always had it! Anyway, didn't really hurt.
I had such a great time covering the Packers last week. Here are a few of my favorite memories from the day. Scroll to the bottom for some of the videos! |
